Deep drilling

Common-Rail high-pressure accumulators and lines, because it enables tubes to be produced with highest internal surface quality, and hence, maximum reliability under the conditions of high, pulsating pressures.

The special challenges of high-pressure engineering are given by the high strength of the base material, by the length of the accumulators and tube lines, by the high length-to-diameter ratio of the drilled holes besides the high demands to centricity and surface quality of the bored tubes.

High pressure components with bores of up to 3m in length and with a length to diameter ratio of up to 100 are being manufactured today by FUCHS DIESEL COMPONENTS PRODUCTION in Henggart (figure 1). Utilization of multi-spindle machines and robots provides high productivity for drilling of shorter tubes (figure 2).
